Minimum Wage Up

The minimum wage is to increase to $12.00 per hour from 1-Apr-2008.

The training wage will rise to $9.60 an hour before tax on 1-Apr-2008.

There is no longer a minimum wage for youth. Instead there is a new entrants minimum wage. The new entrants minimum wage will be $9.60 an hour before tax on 1-Apr-2008.
