A CHEQUE deduction takes all of a person's remaining pay (after tax and other deductions) and includes it in a cheque schedule report, so that you can issue a cheque.

You do not have to create CHEQUE deductions yourself, they will be automatically added to a persons Standard Timesheet if they have a Payment Method of Cheque (the other options are Bank or Cash).

Your Cheque Schedule report will show the details of every cheque that needs to be issued.
