The primary focus of this role is to work alongside our Cyber Security Specialist to monitor security systems to identify, resolve, and prevent security issues. You will also be involved in adapting and maintaining security procedures and policies and implementing security measures and controls.
On the day to day you will find yourself:
- Assisting in the design and implementation of our internal security toolset, including intrusion detection and prevention systems to prevent unauthorised network access
- Monitor for, identify and analyse the source of security breaches, and assist in the identification of cybercrime perpetrators
- Providing technical support and monitoring security access
- Assist with internal staff security awareness training
You will need to show you have:
- Experience working in mission critical environments with a strong eye for detail
- Excellent time management and analytical skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of a hackers’ motivation and a passion to prevail over attacks
- Ability to adapt to rapid changes, and driven by an innate curiosity to reverse engineer attacks and develop solutions
To be considered you will have:
- 3+ years of experience with Java development - ideally with spring/hibernate
- Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity implementation on Windows and Linux operating systems
- Solid understanding of networking both in Corporate and Cloud Environments, including firewalls, switching, and VPNs
- Encryption fundamentals, and how these are applied within Financial Information management systems
And have experience with:
- SQL databases, ideally Postgres
- Experience with virtualisation and containerisation (e.g. Docker etc.)
- Experience with Scripting languages (ideally sh/bash)
- Experience with Linux administration and security tools
- Experience with DevOps processes and common AWS systems (and DevSecOps)
Bonus point for experience with:
- ISO 27001 standards controls and how these are commonly applied to Financial Organisations
- A.I. and its role, impact, and risks on corporate security
- Penetration testing experience
